A distinction should probably be made between those who hit high notes mainly using falsetto, such as King Diamond, and those who hit high notes mostly from the gut, like Halford. Huge difference.

On Dark Angel's "We Have Arrived" Don Doty hits three high notes that still blows me away. I love the screams that Slayer's Tom Araya does on "Angel of Death" and "Black Magic" as well. Also, have to give it up for James of Helstar.

Mark Slaughter is a natch; though, as opposed to Slaughter, King Diamond sounds like his balls aren't in a rusty vice.

Russ Anderson (Forbidden) had some nice range.Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) to me has the perfect blend at the low and high register.Jim Gillette could sing very high but his low end vocals left alot to be desired i thought-King Diamond takes the high crown in my eyes..go take another listen to "Sleepless Nights".
