Megadeth is just technically better and havent wrote a song since Cryptic Writings that really got my attention. I want melody from Dave and it seems he just cant write a good solid melody that sticks. Sure the music is ok but at the end of the day I want something to bring me back. There are 100's of albums where the music is killer and there are no melodies or hooks to make me return.

James knows how to write a hook. Although they might not be on par technically with Megadeth, James always seems to write a ton of hooks and a ton of melodies. Really no comparison when it comes to song writing skills here IMO.

Dave can write a hook - just listen to The System Has Failed for a recent example, as that album is completely full of them.

'Endgame' is streaming in full for free on their Myspace page. I'm five songs in now and it certainly seems a lot more technical and aggressive guitar wise than anything they've done in recent years, there is loads of shredding. They still seemed to have retained the common feel of TSHF and UA. I'm not going to rave like crazy and call this a classic, but it's quality Megadeth, as good as any since at least CTE. I'm definitely digging it right now.

I think I'll resist hitting up their MySpace. I often spoil things for myself by knowing an artist's album well before the actual CD is released.

Megadeth is one of my favorite bands, so I wanna be surprised when I buy it next week.

I am very impressed with the new one!

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I've downloaded 'Headcrusher', so I've heard that one quite a bit already. But I've more or less avoided reading any reviews or listening to any other songs (the only other song I've heard once is '1,320') so I won't taint (hee, hee) my opinion. I'm getting this on the day of release anyway, so why spoil the surprise?

I'll be heading to Best Buy before lunch tomorrow. I saw an ad for Endgame as well as the new Porcupine Tree cd for $9.99 each. I can't wait.

Got the new megadeth today in the mail. Autographed by the whole freakin' band! I wasn't expecting that! Im not listening to the cd yet though. I'm too tired to even try to enjoy it so I will try and listen to it later cause I really want to hear it badly.

Got my copy today. Had to buy it at FYE, since both Wal-Marts I went to let me down by not having it ON THE RELEASE DATE! Grrrrr.....there's no excuse. Anyway, I paid 15 bucks for it, but it's worth every penny.
