Bands with misleading names

Slave Raider - They are a really cheesy cock rock band from the 80s in the vein of Poison. By the name, I'd think they were a thrash band.

Laaz Rockit - See above, but the exact opposite. The name appears to be one a cock rock band would use; they are a thrash band.

Any other ones you can think of?

While they aren't remotely in the realm of ANYTHING metal, I've always thought that the band Savage Garden could have been a cool name for a thrash band. Too bad it was taken by some Aussie nancy-boys.

I agree about Slaughter, but there actually is a thrash band named Slaughter from Canada that is a much better fit for the name.

There actually was a death metal band from Germany called "Poison" that pre-dated the glam band. And as someone else already stated, there was a Canadian thrash band called "Slaughter" before Mark and his boys came along too.

There was also a band called Skid Row from Europe that pre-dated the
American Skid Row. Gary Moore was the guitarist of the original Skid
Row.

The Pretty Maids did do some ballads, and got a little keyboardy at times; but they really could rock out Red Hot and Heavy sometimes too; more than the name would suggest.

The first thing I thought when I saw this tread. Nasty Savage also has a similar deal: name sounds like a glam band, but they play thrash.

oh man, I remember this band from the Decline Of Western Civ:the metal years movie. boy did those guys suck! one of the funniest moments from that movie( and there were many) was when they did their set and there were like 3 people in the audience chanting "Odin! Odin" and one of them was that 85 year old promoter. look up the word "Poser" in the dictionary and Odin would have their picture there.

Yea, Odin was awful. Though it was kind of funny to hear'em go on and on in the movie about how they just KNEW they were going to be such a huge band, then you heard their music...ugh.

I bet that now all of the guys from that band are wearing little paper hats and saying "Would you like fries with that, sir?"

Wild Pussy - a speed/thrash band, I'd expect a crappy Poison/Warrant style hair band.
