favorite OverKill Guitarist:

Who is you favorite OverKill guitarist?

I've seen post about fav Maiden guitarist and other similar post, but haven't seen this one.

I voted for Dave Linsk. I think he's the best thing to happen to OverKill since Tim Mallare first joined them. (shame Tim left though )

I didn't add in earlier guitarists such as Robert Pisarek, Dan Spitz and Rich Conte because, to my knowledge, they never recording anything with the band.

Dave Linsk. No one who has been in Overkill comes close, IMO.

My sentimental favorite is still Gustafson, though Overkill has never really had a "bad" guitarist IMO. The albums with Gant/Cannavino, and Comeau/Marino, are all solid as well.

Bobby G. was the first "metal dude" I ever met and got an autograph from. Nice guy.

Bobby was the best of their guitarists.

Bobby's my favorite although nothing wrong with any of them

"Taking Over" is their masterpiece.

I did like the solos of the two guys from "Horrorscope" although the riffs were a bit bland.

Bobby. All good guitarists though.

Bobby Gustafson! The others don't even come close to his songwriting.

Bobby Gustafson, mostly because he played on my favorite Overkill album, The Years Of Decay.

I have to go with Bobby. He played on all the Overkill records I like best.

Bobby. I couldn't tell any of the others apart in a blind fold test...even if my life depended on it. All the current guitarists are just salaried employees anyway.

Sebastian by far for me because technically he is the superior guitarist out of all of them. All great though

Bobby easily. He played the albums I enjoy the most (though I don't think they have a bad album in the bunch).

After him, I'd probably say Dave Linsk and then Joe Comeau.

and like he recently mentioned in that interview, alot of the material they play live to this day is off the records he was on. I just got a copy of the Wacken DVD, here's the setlist:

Even in a relatively short set, half the tunes are still from that era.

I would definitely have to go with Bobby. He played on the albums which got me into the band in the first place. Unfortunately the band has gone in the direction of a revolving door with their guitar players.

I voted for Merritt Gant. I love his rhythm tone on "Horrorscope".
