Greatest Guitarist

Who out of all these people is the best guitarist? Well, I ain't asking non-metalheads because they'd say something cliche. so choose out of these dudes, or I'll send Axl Rose to come to your house and kill you. Trust me man, he'd do that.
These are metal guitarists by the way so don't expect to see Hendrix.

Some great guitarists in that list. I don't know that it's possible to pick the greatest. Favorite perhaps. I went with YNGWIE, only because I've been on an Yngwie trip for the past few days.

No need to apologize. Eddie was king of the scene in his day. He certainly transformed metal as we knew it in the late 70's and early 80's. Every guitarist in the world was trying to play "Eruption" in '78.

I went with Dime because he plays the style that i love and imo was one of the most durable guitarists out there.

Most of my favs arent even on this list and its ashame.

Jeff Loomis - Sanctuary and Nevermore
John Petrucci - Dream Theater and LTE
Magnus Karlsson - Allen Lande and Primal Fear
Mark Tremonti - Creed and Alter Bridge (Best rock/metal guitarist out there right now)

Eddie was a tempting choice, but I voted for Page.

Good list.

Randy Rhoads because he did more on those two Ozzy records than a lot of players accomplish in their whole career. Who knows how much better he could have become had he lived.

I would go with Paul Gilbert had i not stayed with the choices on the list.

Dave Mustaine because Scott Ian said he invented thrash.

Uli Jon Roth can play circles around any guitar player, IMO.

Yeah, but he still has all of his fingertips on his fretting hand, like most of the guitarists mentioned in this thread (except for one), which makes it easy...fags.

I like SRV. He plays Hendrix better than Hendrix did.

The one I would pick as best isnt on the list, but out of the "list" I would say either Randy Rhoads or Yngwie Malmsteen.

My original choice would be Phil Keaggy. Co'mon even Hendrix said so when asked.
