ANGEL DUST

German power metallers ANGEL DUST have issued the following update:

"After all the name of the new album will not be 'VII', because in the last year there were so many releases from other bands with exactly the same title. The name of the new album is not certain yet. Carsten (Kaiser) has now started the vocal recording (nice that we are one step closer to the release). ANGEL DUST will also play on June 7th at the Century Media Yardsale. They will not play a complete set (they haven't had enough time for rehearsing) but they will play a few titles. TURISAS will also be there."

ANGEL DUST guitarist Bernd Aufermann (also of RUNNING WILD) previously stated about the material that is slated to appear on the follow-up to 2002's "Of Human Bondage", "I'm VERY satisfied with the way the guitar will approach in the music and the material is, in my opinion, the best we've ever written."

ANGEL DUST's forthcoming album will feature the following tracks:

01. Before My Fall
02. Shoot The Needle
03. Marching – Stampeding
04. Alien Man
05. One More Time
06. Street Of Iron Will
07. Consumed
08. Fear No Evil

I'm ambivalent about this release. I love early Angel Dust but when the singer left to form Mercury Rising and Angel Dust released "Of Human Bondage", I suspect the heart and soul of Angel Dust left with the singer.

I like Mercury Rising and didn't care for OHB so we'll see about the new one.

I have hopes for it. But, you might be right, it could turn out bad. Never heard of the new vocalist.

I am a fan of very old ANGEL DUST, from the 80s(their demos+two albums) and then again from BORDER OF REALITY when they were doing a different type of music. I dont care if again they started something different, if its good. ANGEL DUST is good in reinventing them. We will see.

I friggin LOVED Angel Dust. This news kinda bums me out though because I though the singer had rejoined them. I'll still give it a chance since I loved their past albums.

I've read bad reviews of this band, but I might check out their new album.

I thought OF HUMAN BONDAGE was a great disc. Was bummed when Dirk Thurisch left the band right afterward.

It's been so long now since O.H.B. that I had almost forgotten about this band! Will have to dust off their CDs this week and give'em a spin.

I really like albums like "Bleed" and "Enlighten the Darkness", as well as their early thrash albums.

Great band, but with an all new lineup, almost, I'm weary.

They've had some line-up changes before so its nothing new. I am a fan of their earlier thrash stuff as well. A few later albums i thought were ok, but I just can't put a grasp on it.

I have tried one or two of their later albums, and I am with Lurideath, I just couldn't really get into them.

I haven't heard their early material. I want to, but it's always expensive.

I'm listening to Bleed this morning...snagged it yesterday for $4 in perfect condition with the bonus tracks...forgot how awesome they were...

Looks like you're right. And as usual, I called Dirk's new band Mercury "Rising"; I always misname them. It's actually Mercury Tide.

I met them before, they're jerks. Me and a friend went up to the singer and another band member and they passed us up and went staight over to a couple chicks. They might as well start a boy band if they only wanted girl fans.

I highly look forward to this.

...but seriously folks, I dusted off AD's OF HUMAN BONDAGE disc for the first time in a while today and it's kickin' my a$$. Anybody have any updates on this rumored new Angel Dust album?

No updates, but ANGEL DUST rules!

I don't know why everyone deceded OHB was bad, I really like it. Enlighten is my favorite though.
