Peter Murphy

Being a fan of David Bowie i discovered this guy sometime along the way and his voice is really cool IMO. His first band Bauhaus was cool too. Any other fans?

BAUHAUS is one of my favorite bands.....and MURPHY has parlayed his BOWIE copping into a lucrative career....but after a bit he grew into his own fantastic style of alternative pop music....all of his solo offerings are splendid...the best being "In Deep" with "Cuts You Up" his most well known single....

Ever check out his DALI'S CAR project.....good stuff!!!

Cool band. I'm a fan of Peter Murphy, but I never heard of his Dali's Car project though. I'm kinna slow.

DALI'S CAR was a one off project with PETER and MICK KARN of JAPAN on fretless bass...It's quite a unique album...very organic and odd sounding but the musicians compliments each other well....check d' link:

Yeah i definately like a little variety in my collection and guys like Bowie and Murphy have a cool, unique rock sound that i dig. Good to see a couple others that appreciate his music.

Oh yeah i almost forgot... Nevermore did a cover of a Bauhaus song on their IN Memory e.p. right? I did read that Warrel Dane is a fan of their stuff.

Bauhaus are one of my fav post-punk groups. Doomy and gloomy Ziggy Stardust worship.

Pete Murphy has the best David Bowie derived voice this side of Suede's Brett Anderson.

First time I heard "Cuts You Up" I became an instant fan. Deep to me is an "alternative" classic. That live record he put out is also killer.

I never really could get into Bauhaus - it always seemed too atmospheric and moody for me. Of course some of that may have been coming to it through Murphy and David J's solo stuff first. Kind of always thought I should re-visit their stuff at some point though.

Start with "In The Flat Field" it's pretty sraight forward hard rocky goth chic glam....before all the wankery and noodling that followed on some of their later stuff....
