Nice write up, Keith. I saw the first 2 many moons ago and new of the 3rd flick, but had no notion of the 4th even existing.

Good review on Vertical Limit, too. My only dislike of this film (other than it's paint by numbers script)is that they make the late great Bill Paxton a bad guy and as along time fan (going back to Weird Science) I just don't like seeing "the Extreme" as a heel. Big props for the "things II learned" section. I am a huge fan of when reviewers do this.

Just read the write up of Maniac Cop. I haven't seen that in forever, Bruce Campbell and Tom Atkins...2 of the coolest dudes on the planet!

Damn dude. You were diggin' WAY back into the ole back catalog, haha. The Maniac Cop review was one of the first pieces I posted on HubPages back in 2011 or so. Vertical Limit is an oldie, too. I appreciate it!

Honestly... neither do I. I rarely, if ever, read anyone else's stuff on HP. It's just a place for me to post my own stuff without actually having to learn how to set up a site of my own, haha.

There aren't really any other people on there who write about the sort of thing(s) that interest me. I'm the only heavy metal dude among all these bored housewives sharing their favorite recipes and bad poetry, or Pakistani spammers whoring free-movie-download sites.

It's true. I tried reading some of your colleagues stuff a year or two ago and there was nothing that interested me in the least. Now if the Pakastani spammers share some good bootleg Ukranian porn, well, then...we have a ball game.

Good review brother. That's the only "studio" Kix album I don't have and the only other I am missing besides Live In Baltimore.

I have all the Kix studio albums and when I compiled my Best Of Kix comp the only tracks from "Cool Kids" that made the cut were "Cool Kids", "Love Pollution", "Body Talk", and "Loco-Emotion".  Other than those 4 the rest of the album is entirely forgettable IMO.

That is what usually stops me from picking it up when I search for it. I feel like every time I see it it's $20+ and that's just too much for an album that I know I won't really listen to.

I have all their studio albums, and yea, that album probably gets the least amount of spins from me. They didn't really find their groove till Midnight Dynamite. Cool Kids suffers from too much record company interference and 80's production.

My first exposure was "Blow My Fuse" and then I grabbed "Midnight Dynamite" shorty after and it's those two (and then Hot Wire) that get the most attention.

I'm a Kix fanboy, I like all their stuff (even the losers like "Cool Kids" and "Show Business," haha)

Anyone who's looking to get Cool Kids on CD, I got it at ImportCDs dot com for under ten bucks. It's a reissue from Holland ("isn't dat veird?" -- Goldmember) on some label I've never heard of called "Music on CD." Discogs sez they're a legit reissue label, so that was good enuff for me.

You made me check that video for King of the Underdogs. I was intrigued.

It was cool, but I swear I could sing better than Jason. The style also doesn't appeal to me enough to buy the CD. It's a little bit like later era Danzig. Not bad. But I like faster stuff usually. I think that song was quality, so it's just me.

It's one hell of an album. I still spin it from time to time. Beats Metallica's albums by far .

Although i consider Hardwired to be an amazing release...

It's a shame Jason couldn't carry on with this band, but I understand the financial burden it was. Maybe someday he'll resurrect it.
