Yeah, most people I know think this has been a great year for metal! Those who 'do not' think so ... well, they are in the major minority.

There is another to add to the power of 2007. I was at virgin megastore looking to expand my collection of this year's releases and wanted to get the new Helloween, Primal Fear, Thunderstone, Allen-Lande, Epica, or Visions Of Atlantis (I could only get three). Allen-Lande is still not availiable in the U.S., and there was no sign of the Helloween, Primal Fear, or Thunderstone albums.

I got Epica, Visions Of Atlantis and was going to get a non-2007 release when I saw the new VISION DIVINE album. I first heard these guys on the first album w/o Fabio, The Perfect Machine and really liked it so I got the new one (we'll see how it ranks with the other 2007 releases).

I don't buy a whole lot of new metal. I mostly stick to the veterans of metal (Megadeth, Priest, Maiden...) and hard rock (Scorpions, Tesla, Great White...) when they have a new release.

But I do enjoy power metal (although by far it's not my favorite genre), so if some of you are saying 2007 is THAT good, I'll have to check in on some of these albums...
