Haha, true!

There were a lot of pop/mainstream acts during the '80s/'90s which put out some songs I liked... but never enough to make me pay $$ for a full album... (or I simply didn't pay attention to 'em cuz I was too busy being All Tr00 Mettle All The Time, haha.)

But now it's 20 plus years later, and all those band's CDs are turning up in thrift shops for less than a buck a pop, at that price I don't have as much of a problem with going "off the reservation," so to speak. Very Happy

Just saw them perform the first track off this album at the Inauguration event today so I thought I'd check out their latest release. Then I saw this "review":

Stuff like that pisses me off. I listen to a whole bunch of artists with whom I totally disagree politically but that doesn't ever enter in to my judgment of their music unless the lyrics push that same viewpoint. And maybe not even then. I listen to music because I like the sound; I don't really give a rat's ass what an artist's politics are.

3 Doors Down is a fantastic band, man. I don't care what anyone says. They sneak in some metal riffs from time to time, too.

I've heard of The Joneses, but never heard the music. Seemed like something I'd enjoy. I already have that Wild Kingdom album, along with a few others in that pile, but the price was right ($1.50 ea.) and I figured I can flip 'em on ebay. This will be the 3rd time I've owned that Jellyfish album. Smile

Alright! Now you're talkin'!! I haven't played it yet (nor sampled anything online) but I read they had a bit of a punky vibe thrown in the mix of blues and rock too. Is that accurate? Maybe their earlier albums?
