Such an excellent singer.

Had the 45s for "I Can't Hold Back," "High On You," and "Burning Heart" and played them all the time when I was a kid. Another great musician/vocalist of the '80s gone.

Just saw this. Such a bummer. Fantastic singer. Of course, he is known for his work with Survivor, but there is a ton of other great music from him out there. =(

I only know him from the Baywatch song. RIP.

Come on. You gotta also know "Burning Heart" and "The Search is Over." Especially the former! Who doesn't know that song? =)

The general rule with Survivor in the U.K is, if it wasn't in a Rocky movie, we took no notice at all so I only really know Burning Heart from his era.

Still, another one gone too soon

He's a great singer. He sang in Cobra and Target before Survivor. Those bands were more in the hard rock vein than his work with Survivor. Gone too soon.  

He also sang in a prog band.... D Beaver. Good album.

R.I.P I saw Jimi with Survivor open for REO Speedwagon in October of 84. Also on the bill was Zebra. Great show, great vocalist.

A great vocalist and if you like AOR, he and Survivor were some of the best in that genre

Definitely a bummer.

I'm not a die hard Survivor fanboy, but they're easily my favorite of that style/genre. Pick any album and it's a fun listen all the way through.

I loved the Rocky songs - his voice was classic - very cool looks -
Kinda reminds me of Paul Sabu - with that vocal power and passion -
I had to smile that he did a concert on a Saturday night and lived in Mephis -
I have watched that Cobra song for years - never knew it was Jimi from Survivor.
It's cool to hear that any Survivor cd is a fun listen - that speaks volumes -
Hope he gets a greatest hits package - sounds great for winter listening !
