Pops on new records are almost always caused by static buildup. A good cleaning with an anti-static cloth or brush should get rid of the audible pops.

Every new record I've bought recently has loads of static, it sometimes takes several cleanings before it dissipates.

I got mine yesterday, vinyl is perfect which is a rarity nowadays. Only got to spin side A, sounds great so far. Simple straight forward heavy metal, no pretentiousness, no apologies.

I was disappointed it didn't come with a digital download. I emailed the band and asked them about it. They said they would email me the Mp3's when they come back from Europe which I thought was pretty cool of them.

I also ordered their EP on vinyl from their website. A bit pricey but I've been looking all over for it, its getting pretty hard to find. They only had 20 copies so if you want one, I would head there quickly.

I should take a picture of my Night Demon collection so far.. I have the EP on the 7" vinyl.

I think that my copy is at the post office, won't get up there till thursday to find out.

Erm.....

I like it, I love this music and it's done pretty well, but why in Night Demon thread? 

Are we saying it's the same guy? There is certainly a resemblance both in looks and vocals and reading Jeff Hershey's bandcamp blurb he says that his background was punk and metal.

Yes, it's the same dude.

Listening to the album now. I like it, it isn't amazing because his voice isn't quite strong enough for soul but I'll bet they were great live.

He also plays bass on this



He gets around a bit does Jeff/Jarvis!

The album (in fact the band's entire back catalogue) is name your price on bandcamp and the soul record is fast becoming a guilty pleasure for me. Some of his stuff shows his punk roots a bit more but it's all good stuff, I like this guy, he clearly just digs all kinds of music.

That is kind of stupid for being upset over someone not liking an album. I'm actually a little surprised they haven't heard of Moonspell. They've been around for a long time.

I've seen interviews with this band and they are completely honest about who they are, metal fans who got into the punk scene because there was absolutely no metal scene locally, now they have decided to do a metal project that wasn't really expected to go beyond the first EP but it's taken off so they want to keep it going.

I hate this tr00 metal bulshit perpetuated by f%*king idiots who should know better. It's music, made by musicians, musicians often have varied tastes, that's it.

They'd have to be pretty damn ignorant not to have heard of Moonspell. I think they were just playing it up to be dicks.

I just recently discovered Night Demon for myself...digging it!

As for not hearing of Moonspell, yeah they've been around a long time but in the states they're not exactly as known as Iced Earth or Nevermore.

So it looks like Brent is no longer the guitarist... What do you guys think of his replacement?
