Bret Michaels in critical condition

You may or maynot like him, I personally enjoyed the songs from the 80's and loved the shows live. Though I may not have been a fan per say I certainly enjoyed what they have had to offer to rock as well. He was a dedicated performer no doubt!

Bret Michaels's health has taken a turn for the worse, PEOPLE has
learned: After an excruciating headache late Thursday night, the star
was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where doctors discovered he
suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his
brain stem), according to a source close to the situation.


Michaels, 47, is currently in critical condition. "After several
CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in
the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will
be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense
observation," the source says.


Reps confirm this report is accurate, and tell PEOPLE, "We will
have no additional information until further testing is done."

The
rocker's latest hospital visit follows his emergency
appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12. There is no word
yet whether this new development is related to the rocker's recent
appendectomy or to his diabetes.

After his
appendectomy, Michaels remained in the hospital under his doctors' care –
then transferred to a rehab facility specializing
in diabetic patients.


As he was recovering, Michaels – who was still in the running to
win this season of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice – seemed to be
in good spirits and updated fans on his progress.


"They told me that if I had gone on stage like I wanted to, [my
appendix] likely would have ruptured and I could have died," he wrote
in a note to his fans. "There is just no way around the fact that
getting your appendix out HURTS. I have a pretty good threshold for
pain, but this one hurts."

Yes, this does not look good. He had a brain hemmorage.

This sucks! I love Brett Michaels' music.

I'm not necessarily a fan of Brett's solo material, but I'm a pretty big Poison fan. I have all their albums (except just one I think).


I just saw Poison live last summer in fact. wow, to think that might have been my last chance to see them with Brett.

Im not a fan but Ive prayed for him and with his diabetes that adds to it.

I was never really a Poison or glam fan, but I kind of liked Brett as a person. He always seemed like an okay guy to me. Hope he pulls through this.

Brett was one of the nicest stars in glam metal.

He wasn't a jerk like so many of them. He'd talk to people and hang out. I've heard some pretty cool stories about him.

Not a fan of his music really but this still sux regardless. He seems like a kewl kat.

I forgot about him being a diabetic, indeed this will make it more difficult and longer to recover.

The good news is he apparently had a headache and was aware of things, not as if he collapsed so hopefully they got to things in time for him. It will be a tough month ahead of him, but he is a fit guy who has lived a generally healthy life considering his career. Hope it all adds up and he can come back and perform.

I got to see Poison twice so far and each time they stole the shows. Many of the guys grew up and lived about 20 minutes north of me. So when they come to Pittsburgh they always talk about the old times here and at least say they are playing a couple extra songs for the hometown LOL!

My family (not me unfortunately) has seen Bret at restaurants when he is in town, and said he is so nice to all the fans or people who recognize him, and he is very kind to the waiters as well. Cant say that about to many high profiled people.

Right. He always seemed honest and personable. He never took his fans for granted.

It is a medical emergency and can lead to death or
severe disability—even when recognized and treated at an
early stage. Up to half of all cases of SAH are fatal and 10–15% die
before reaching a hospital,^[1]
and those who survive often have neurological or cognitive impairment.[

I really hope he has that chance to pull through and be 100% himself again someday!

Damn, that boy is having a rough year. First a crack on the noggin (at the Tony Awards), then appendicitis, and now this.

I wonder if the crack on the noggin caused this?

Awful news. Bret's always seemed like one of the coolest nicest rock stars. Poison was one of the first bands I was a fan of when I started listening to music. I hope he pulls through.

I hope he didn't smear his lip gloss in the ambulance.

I actually like Poison, as far as his solo material and his Rock of Love, he can shove them up his ass.

I do hope he recovers.

that's a shame...he's had a rough time lately. i blame it on Miley Cyrus.

Though I can find it no where else, according to wikipedia he is now in stable condition. That is hopeful news at least.
