| Any picked up Dagon's latest album "Terraphobic"? Pure awesomeness. I haven't enjoyed a new album this year as much as this one. Anybody else dig these guys? | |

| I have it, but haven't given it a spin yet. I didn't care for their last two CDs much. They just aren't my thing. The whole modern death metal/deathcore scene just doesn't seem to do much for me. I'll give it a chance soon. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Love the music, but the vocals seem out of place to me. | |

Scott, the music is great, lots of cool solos and catchy choruses. The vocals take some time to getting used to, as Rex pointed out, it can get in the way.

| I think it was the vocals that ruined the first two CDs for me. I ended up trading them both away. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Then you'll probably do the same with this one Scott.

| This is by far the best sounding Dagon disc. The production and mix are quite strong and the songs are well written and played. The mix brings out the bass and it is great to hear actually how solid and inventive a lot of bass runs are. And the guitar duo are playing their best leads they have yet.
I really don't have any issues with the vocals, so even though I'll say this is their best vocal delivery, I understand lots out there do not like the style and may not hear the change in quality.

Agreed. It's just not what I am seeking in music. That quote is sigworthy.

If you like old school death metal, Blaspherian from Houston is more along the lines of what you'd want. No idea for power metal, etc.
