The Rez Band

Who do you consider to have begun the Christian Rock movement?(besides any dieties etc.) In my mind it was these people. Them or Jerusalem or Petra. I know there were bands with Christian leanings before, like Kansas; or even Gravy Train (who had many spiritually themed songs). I also know about a ton of individual songs with overtly spiritual themes before Rez. But Rez were the first "pure" Christian band I ever heard. I'm told Proto-Kaw was a precursor of Kansas, but I'm not sure we would ever have heard of them if not for Kansas success. What do you think?

p.s.-The problem I had with The Resurrection Band (Rez), is that I liked Glenn Kaiser's voice, and extremely disliked Wendy Kaiser's (they alternated lead vocals). I never could listen to the albums; I always had to (tape in those days) the songs featuring Glenn only.

Larry Norman was pretty early. But I've always considered Jerusalem as the pioneers of the hard rock movement in the Christian scene.
