| This is the first time I have shared an apartment, does anybody have any helpful advice? Me and a couple of my close bros are moving into some new apartments while my other friend is getting married and moving into the same apartment complex in a house across from us, it should be rad. | |

| Don't share girlfriends and make sure everyone pays the fair share of the load. Friends can be forever, I have friends from my neighborhood to this very day. Cash and gals can put a monkey wrench in things for sure. Hope it works out. | |

Thats what happened to me, i was dating a girl and when she dumped me my friend of 15 years and roommate took her on the rebound and moved her in. Incidentally i'm now living in my mom's living room.

Should be rad. It won't be, though. Unless you guys are total reckless clowns that care about little, it's going to be tough. You learn things about friends you never knew before when you're living together, and it more often than not makes you dislike them. One of my best friends when I was stationed in Little Rock was sent to Korea the same time I was. Naturally we became roommates. Within three months I couldn't stand the sight of him. And this was a guy that I was great friends with for nearly four years before going to Korea. So yeah, good luck. |

At 19, this experience will challenge you to no end. Keep your deal of the bargain and stay out your friends business.

| Stay busy and don't move in with slackers. If you have your own room, get a lock on the outside to keep people out when you're not there. And get a lock on the inside to keep people out when you're in there. If you're a neat person, moving in with slobs will drive you insane. The opposite also applies if you're a slob. A neatnik will make you crazy. Label your beer. They will still steal it, but at least they'll know who bought the cheap beer they're drinking. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Set the ground rules, stick to them and you will be OK!!! Ground rules on Food, everyone gets their own food cabinet and no stealing food!!! Same goes for beer!!! Ground rules on bills - everyone pays on time or else!!!! Someone not paying can screw up your credit. The other things that really worked well with some roommates I had is to set a cleaning schedule and stick to it. Setting the expectations and sticking to them in advance can make it a great experience!!!! It is totally different when you have roommates for the first time, it can be LOTS of fun. | |

| Oh, and if you happen to be in the apartment entertaining a "lady friend" make sure you hang a bandana on the door knob to alert your roomies that you're busy. Otherwise, hilarious and mortifying consequences may ensue. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Hence the "lock on the bedroom door" reference I made earlier. My old roommate walked in on another roommate "getting busy" with himself, if you get my drift. Of cousre, hilarity DID ensue for many years after that. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Hahaha. I never shared a apartment or house with anyone but I could imagine how you would get sick of someone quick especially friends. _________________

I lived in a house with 2 of my high-school buddies for almost 3 years. We never had any issues when it was just the 3 of us. The problems arose when one roommate moved out and the other roommate's girlfriend moved in. It went from being the "guy's club house/hang-out for movies & beer" to the "future married couple's place and the 3rd wheel roommate". That's when I knew it was time for me to leave and get my own place. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Ouch. I once worked with a guy who had a ghey roommate while he was in college. I won't even go into what HE walked in on one day. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

At least none that I was aware of. We still laugh about that time though. And I was in the room next door, so I would hear his girlfriend (now wife) when they were "being intimate". _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh man, that's awful (in a hilarious way). I would've busted out laughin' so hard that I would've definitely put an end to their fun. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
