| These guys are one of my favorite bands and I thought this was a good interview. Check it out if you're interested and leave some comments. http://www.indievisionmusic.com/wordpress/2009/03/04/feast-eternal-interview/ | |

| Good interview, though the whole bagging on OGR thing is lame. I am looking forward to their next release, however. | |

I know the inside story and Matt and Feast Eternal have honestly taken the high road with Open Grave,.....he did not mention the label by name and left out all details. He mostly said that they were not happy, that is honest they were not happy with the label and on the promotion side of things they fell short. I don't think that is bagging OGR.

| They didn't have to mention any names - anybody can look up FE on Metal Archives & see who released the last album. OGR is a small label, and bands shouldn't expect much from a small label - that's the way it works.
I don't know the whole story, but slagging a small, indie label that doesn't have the resources to do what you believe they should is lame.

/rant I think the optional word is they did not do what they promised they would do, not what they (the band) believed they (the record comapany) should do. All that aside it was good Feast got onto OGR because it did get a new Feast Eternal album out there and that might not have happened without OGR.

All that aside it was good Feast got onto OGR because it did get a new Feast Eternal album out there and that might not have happened without OGR. And that's the perspective I'm coming from - if OGR didn't hook them up w/ a release, they may have had to completely release it themselves. That's easier to do these days, what w/ CD-R's selling as much as pro-CD's, and with sites like CDBaby to market your stuff, but there's a lot more overhead you have to absorb to do that. In that instance, because death metal w/ faith-based lyrics is such a small market, and such a money pit in many ways, it's difficult to have your expecations high. That said, if OGR promised FE something they didn't deliver, that's obviously not right, but again, that may be a case where it was thought that it could be done, but when the rubber met the road the resources weren't there. That just has to be understood by both parties in a situation like that. Anyway, enough on the topic - FE jams!
