Mastodon take that all important leap into total progressive rock. Brendan O'Brien's production is stunning. Almost all of the vocals are clean this time around, which is the direction they've been heading in for awhile. But most importantly...the guitar sounds are just fantastic, especially the solos, there's incredible bite to the tones. It's so complex that I'm sure it will leave many scratching their heads, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I will have to check this one out!!!! Last night/Today: King's X - Dogman, XV, Faith Hope Love Motorhead - Motorizer

I saw a kick ass Mastodon shirt at Hot Topic today and thought to myself "I'd get that shirt if only I liked that band's music." I might check this one out and see if it changes my opinion any.
