| When I first heard VH his leads blew me away. From the get go his rhythms just passed me by for some reason. There are some great ones in there but there are also some mediocre ones as well. Although they might be mediocre to me the songs still rocked | |

| I think Eddie's rhythm playing often gets overshadowed because he is such a great lead player. | |

I strongly disagree Rob. Unchained, Panama, Hot For Teacher, Ain't Talkin 'bout Love, Little Guitars, Talk About It Later and so many others are some of the most memorable riffs ever recorded, and i voted for Randy.

| They were both so different. Eddie really influenced a generation of guitar slingers and precededRandy. Randy never really was afforded the chance to grow and come into his own. He was a great guitarist, but I imagine he would have become even better over time. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Preceded Randy? Didn't QR1 come out in '77 and VH1 in '78? I wasn't born till the 80's but weren't they both doing the club scene at the same time around '76?

Yes true but Quiet Riot's first two albums featuring Randy Rhoads were only released in Japan, and made no impact over here at all, plus the style that Rhoads perfected with Ozzy is nowhere in evidence on those two albums, you get a few glimpses but not many.

| Love them both but EVH mainly for his body of work. It's sort of like asking: which child do I love most? |

Yes his diversity separated him from VH IMO. He could do it all regardless of the little material we had from him. Also his solos had a lot more depth then VH's as well. With VH you know what to expect with RR he had so many styles you really didn't know what was coming. Both are amazing though..

| I went with EVH, mostly out of sentimentality, although I really like and respect RR a lot. One of my all time favorite solos is in Crazy Train, but Eddie really had an effect on me as a child. It's hard to top Eruption or Spanish Fly! Although, Laughing Gas is terrific too. | |

I voted for Eddie. A true comparison is QRI to VHI. Randy was great and had strong rhythem/lead abilities, but he had just as much opportunity as Eddie to get his music out there. I certainly think Randy had some serious chops, but had he not been given the Ozzy gig would he have ever broken out. There is a reason the Oz albums didn't resemble the playing on the QR releases and that's what I've got to go on. |

| Give me EVH. He has a larger body of work to go by. Rnady's is very limited in comparison. Who knows how far Randy Rhoads would have gone had he lived? | |

Judging by the direction he was heading and his classically trained background, I could see him going in a more Yngwie/Blackmore direction, playing classical music, just louder and faster. Brilliant in it's own way, but maybe not for everyone. Eddie on the other hand just seems to do whatever he feels like on the guitar and it works. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
