Stanton is of course a premier BAD M.F. on the drums, but he's also one of the most musically open-minded dudes out there. Whether playing funk with "Galactic", recording soul jazz on his solo albums...or blasting out INSANE Bill Ward inspired metal chaos with C.O.C. (check out his playing on In The Arms Of God)...he's the real deal. I've had the good fortune to see him on numerous occasions and he always delivers.

Here's a piece of inspired lunacy from his album "Flyin' The Koop" featuring Seattle based saxophone player Skerik who is running his amplified sax through a distortion pedal on this number.

Warning: Don't listen if you can't stomach noisy, avant-garde, electrified weirdness...that rocks.
