searching for a new label over the past year, Lillian Axe was
looking for a record company who respected their past, but more
importantly wanted the band to be part of their present and
future. Blistering Records proved to be the most aggressive
suitor for Lillian Axe making the decision an easy one. The
Axe men were equally thrilled to become the flagship artist with
this fast rising international company who already boasts releases
from melodic rock heroes like Joe Lynn Turner, Glenn Hughes, Jorn
& House Of Lords!




Lillian
Axe, having re-established themselves in 2007 & 2008, look
forward to 2009 as the year of The Axe! They will embark on a
world tour this June in support of their new CD, Sad Day On
Planet Earth. The ambitious 12 month trek will take
them across the United States, Canada, Europe & Japan. Every
city & every festival that wants Lillian Axe shall have
them!




Although,
Lillian Axe never forgets its glorious past, their sound is
very modern. Musically speaking, Sad Day On
Planet Earth is by far their strongest album. With
a rare balance of continuity & variety showcasing their
veteran song writing chops, radio formats from Active

Poetic Justice is my favorite album. Great and very underrated band.

Like these guys quite a bit although my Lillian Axe catalog is lacking a few discs. Psychoschitzophrenia is my favorite disc by the Axe.

I have the first three and the Live double set from 2002. I got into them in 1992 cuz of a girl I knew in college. I thought I knew about every Metal band out there and I am walking to my dorm room one day and I hear someone blasting Jackyl really loud. So, I investigate and come upon this girl's room. Her door is open and she's sitting on her bed reading a book. Long story short, I notice the Dokken and Vanhalen posters and we start talkin' metal. I look at a picture on her desk and don't recognize the band members, and I see that it's autographed to her, so I ask. She tells me and I reply "who the feck is Lillian Axe?" She lets me borrow a few cassettes (the S/T debut and Love and War) since I didn't have a CD player yet and the next week I was at a Newbury Comics picking up copies for myself. Love and War is one of my all time favorite albums. Ever. Glad to see them with some more new stuff. I will have to pick that up along with Fields of Yesterday and Waters Rising. i know. There were pretty popular until Hurricane Ivan detroyed Pensacola. Mobile, Biloxi and NOLA all had teams too.

I only have Lillian Axe's LOVE AND WAR album (on vinyl) and other than the fact that it's got a hot chick on the cover, I find it pretty unmemorable. Pretty standard second tier hair metal if you ask me. Great cover though.

Love And War is an awesome CD! 10/10 VERY memorable tunes, IMO. Listen to it again! Memorize it if you can!

Just received the band's self titled album in the mail. Haven't heard it yet. Can't wait.

I only have Poetic Justice and like it well enough. Pretty decent stuff.

I just started checking this band out too. Pretty good stuff. I started with the early albums, but I look forward to hearing their recent output.

Still love these guys. The only disappointing material from them is the newer stuff cuz it's somewhat mellow and very depressing. Gone is the anthemic chorus and upbeat songs of women and partying. It's almost like a completely different band.

I liked their latest one. Guess because it was my introduction to the band and i had never heard their earlier material yet.

Lillian Axe's catalogue is getting reissued soon.

I just got my first Axe CD, Love+War, a 2018 Rock Candy issue. I didn't know their catalogue was mostly out of print.

Maybe now it will be a good time to grab some of the others. I think at least Poetic Justice and Psychoschizophrenia.

Love+War is awesome. I want to learn to play the songs.

The last Lillian Axe i picked up was the Psalms For Eternity box set a couple of months ago.

I am planning on getting the same albums as you Lari.

There's now a decently priced 7CD box set with:

CD1: Poetic Justice (1992)
CD2: Psychoschizophrenia (1993)
CD3: Live 2002, pt 1
CD4: Live 2002, pt 2
CD5: Waters Rising (2007)
CD6: Sad Day On Planet Earth (2009)
CD7: Random Acts Of Blindness (Steve Blaze “solo” album, 2004)

I might pick that up, considering Love + War is still the only Axe album I have on CD. Anything I should know about those albums included in the set?

CD's 1 and 2 are all I've heard out of this set. Both of those albums are really good. The rest of it I have no clue about.

The first 5 are really good. Please note that CDs 5 and 6 don't have Ron Taylor (the vocalist on Love + War) but he does sing on the Live album which is really, really good. I have never heard CDs 6 and 7.
