My opinion of Venom is no secret here. But I found a Cronos solo
album and picked it up as tradebait. Well, I am keeping it!
Way better than anything I have ever heard from Venom. It seems a
bit more polished or commercial, but it is pretty shreddin' all the way
thru.

Anyone else ever heard "Dancing in the fire"?

I personally don't consider it better than Welcome To Hell and Black Metal but it is a damn good album.

The follow up to Dancing In The Fire, Rock N Roll Disease is another worth checking out though not as good as the first one.

Just recently got into the whole early 80's black metal scene after reading 'The Complete Headbangers History of Heavy Metal' and I dig the whole Venom, Possessed, Exciter boys...though Mayhem was just a f***ed scene...then again, its all.

Yes, i have that DANCING IN THE FIRE album on vinyl but didnt listen to it for years. I will do it soon. I have also ROCK´N´ROLL DISEASE on cd from 93. Do somebody remember the very melodic MANTAS lp??? Still have it on vinyl and realy love it but doesnt have much to do with VENOM.

Yeah, I got the Mantas on CD. It's even more melodic than Hank Sherman (of Mercyful Fate) and his hairband "Fate". I like those albums but you've got to have a sense of humor about them, they are incredibly silly.

I like Venom and I like Cronos' solo stuff. I have all of his albums and enjoy them very much. In Fact, I just got the Cronos Compilation which has almost everything he ever put out.
