| I've been listening to a lot of Survivor recently. Currently I have "Eye of The Tiger" and a cheap Greatest Hits thing, both great melodic rock albums. Anybody else a fan? | |

| I dig Survivor, Pop rock/metal ruled when it was the 80's...forget pop rock now though. | |

| Great band. I think that they are just as good as Journey, but unfortunately they are always referred to as "that band that sings Eye of the Tiger", and that is lame. They have a ton of great songs eg; High On You, Poor Man's Son, Burning Heart...etc. They have also had some very underrated musicians in Jim Peterik, Frankie Sullivan, Dave Bickler and Jimi Jamison. | |

| I only own the greatest hits album. I admit, I knew nearly every song, though. I thought I'd know "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart" only. I think overall they're too light for me.
"Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart" are brilliant songs, though. I can't imagine they have any better songs than those two. |

| Caught In The Game is a very cool tune, it's got a great guitar hook. Those with the Greatest Hits album refer to this track and see what I mean. | |

I tend not to be a fan of Dave Bickler's voice, and he sang for the band when "Eye of the Tiger" was a hit. When Jim Jamison came to the band, this was when they hit their mark. My favorite songs are: High On You I Can't Hold Back Is This Love The Search Is Over American Heartbeat Burning Heart

| I didn't get it, even when the Rocky picture was a hit. Journey I can get, Survivor? Nope. But enjoy ya'll! |

| How can anyone not like "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart?" Man, those are almost too good. |

Eye of the Tiger sounded okay when I was 12...but I was already listening to Pink Floyd, Queen, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, etc. So it was kind of a non-event for me. |

| A few years ago, I went out to a nightclub with some co-workers. Unbeknownst to us, performing that night was former disco-diva Gloria Gaynor ("I Will Survive"). We thought it would be a hoot to stick around and watch. Her opening song was "Eye of the Tiger", with a full backing band and everything. Classic! _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I remember seeing "Rocky III" in the theatre when I was a kid and when "Eye of the Tiger" came on during the movie I thought it was a Triumph song. Duh. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| As I get older I find myself listening to tons of AOR stuff. Survivor fits me like a glove (imagine that!) at this point in my life. Current favorite song: "Broken Promises" - sounds like an 80's Rainbow song. |

I was about 14 and listening to those bands too but I still liked Survivor. They had some great hooks. |

Now that I've acquired a few more Survivor discs, I've got to disagree with this. I do like the Jamison albums, but I prefer Dave. I love his voice, like a more manly version of Steve Perry. The first 3 albums are pretty hard-rocking, after that it's mostly sappy pop stuff (still good though).

me too. AOR is really growing on me now. I got their Greatest Hits cd off swapacd and I like it a lot. I am even starting to like some oldies - getting a Buddy Holly Greatest Hits cd too... Alex _________________

| I saw them live at a Car Show when I was in high school. They were decent live. The Rocky songs weren't too bad. | |

| The greatest hits from 1993 cd was a really good album. I think the thing is that a lot of these 80s bands tend to release multiple greatest hits cds which kinda dilutes their appeal... Alex _________________ | |

| Never was a big fan of Survivor, just thought their songs were little too light weight, that being said a bit of interesting trivial regarding Jim Jamison, when Ian Gillan was fired from Deep Purple, they auditioned Jim Jamison and he almost got the gig til Ritchie Blackmore insisted that they hire Joe Lynn Turner or he was out.
Also Survivor's current frontman is Robin McAuley, who was in a reconstructed version of the Michael Schenker Group rechristened the McAuley-Schenker Group during the mid 80's.
