What was your favorite song 5, 10, 15 years ago?

Here's a trivia game that I think might be fun...what was your favorite song (or album) from certain periods of time in the past (you don't have to use 5 year increments like I have). Try to list something that was fairly contemporary then...I mean I could list Smoke on the Water every year since 1972, or something old like Eloy's Child Migration that I happen to have just discovered now; but that wouldn't be any fun. That being said; I don't think we have to get too anal about exactly what year a song came out either, it doesn't have to be something from exactly that year...here's my list

2007-"Evil Red" or "Trike" by We're All Gonna Die
2002-"Lies" by Royal Hunt
1997-"Sender of Thoughts" by Tad Morose
1992-"The Sleeper" or "Heaven is There" by Trouble
1987- "Holy Diver" by Dio
1982-I wish I could say it was "Electric Eye" by Priest, but it wasn't: it was "On and On" by MSG
1977-"Hole In The Sky" by Sabbath
1972-"Smoke on the Water" by Purple
1967- "Light MY Fire" by the Doors
1962- Happy Birthday or Jingle Bells or something like that

2007 - at the moment, it's "Breaking the Silence" by Firewind
2002 - "Criteria For A Black Widow" (Annihilator)
1997 - "Burn In Hell" (Judas Priest)
1992 - "Love Destruction" (Warrior Soul)
1987 - "Ton of Bricks" (Metal Church)
1982 - probably something from "Let There Be Rock" by AC/DC (one of the few tapes I owned @ the time)
1977 - whatever was on the radio (I was only seven years old, haha!)

Maybe I am weird, but I haven't typically had favorite songs. Favorite albums, yes, but not songs.

I was really into Warrior Soul in 1992 also. Cool band.

I would have to agree with you - I didn't have favorite songs, but favorite albums

I understand. I'd be just as interested to know what people's favorite albums were too. Actually the above songs were on most of my favorite albums from those periods, with the exeption of the Royal Hunt. I think I liked the Cornerstone CD from that year better considering the whole CD.

Those first 4 years are horrific. Thankfully you crossed over from the dark side and saw the light when you turned 17, which is about when i started to get into heavier music like Sepultura and the like.

Yeah, but those nu-metal ones broke me away from pop/rap... so they're good for that

I still love the Godsmack CD tho, but they're far from my favourite.

It might be nostalgia, but the Smash Mouth one still aint so bad, but I don't think i'd ever own any of their CDs again.

I can't remember if I just forgot to say that I could do favorite albums but not favorite songs. Or I just didn't read the topic correctly. Either way to pick a favorite songs from each year would be impossible for me because I'm too indecisive and like certain songs in a different way than others. Even picking a favorite song from each of those above albums would prove very difficult for me.

Suprised no one called me on my error before, but since I realized it just now that is a moot point.
