Name some band names that you don't like or that bug you and tell us why you don't like them.

Silent Force (sounds like a fart)

Fairyland (Oh C'mon! This has to be the most gay name for a metal band ever! I think the epic power metal band's have taken this fantasy/fairytale thing a bit too far.)

Deuteronomium (mostly because I still can't pronounce it! Grrr!)

Pink Cream 69 - great band, horrible name. Sounds very gay.
Smashing Pumpkins - not a fan, stupid name until I heard this exchange on the Simpsons...

"Hi. Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely"

I don't care for the new trend to name their bands in near full sentances (ie, As Daylight Dies, Bullet for My Valentine, Watch Them Die, Between the Buried and Me). Too long and stupid.

go check my post in the worst band names thread...it's pretty much the same.

Pretty much any band whose name is more than 1 word long. 1 exception being Kings X. Is X really a word though???

Yeah, I've avoided Edguy forever just because of the name (just traded for one of their discs this week though).
Pretty Maids and Viscious Rumors I don't like because the names don't do justice to great bands.
Also guys who use their own names, who don't have very interesting names (Gaskin, Santers, Tamplin, etc.).
Bands with scatological cuss words as part of their name are really doing me a service because I know to avoid them without even hearing them.

The band name Criminal. It just seems like their trying to hard to sound tough.

It took me awhile to get into them because of the name as well. "Edguy? What kind of name is that?" A buddy said to me "Sounds EdGAY". Fortunately their music is better than the name.

It's witty at first, but it seems less funny every time you hear it. (Sorry, couldn't resist a Simpsons reference... I'm such a geek)

On topic, I read a review in a magazine the other day of a band called "Prostitute Disfigurement." What the hell? Who would want to be seen in public buying a CD with that name on it?

haha Not saying its a bad band, just the name doesn't make much sense to me.
