All of this talk of Deep Purple got me to switch gears. As much as some people may not agree, the current lineup of Purple is one of my favorites...as evidenced by this excellent album. Steve Morse has now been the guitarist in Purple for 13 years and he was the creative spark the band severely needed. Here's a band that still sounds like they are having FUN playing music and aren't just an "oldies act".

Every album they have recorded with Steve Morse has been steller, and band who doesnot sound like its just trying to repeat past glories.
