I have his 1st album which I like. I need to break that one out again. It's been awhile. His 2nd one didn't do anything for me and I kinda lost interest in the guy after that. Haven't heard anything from him in a long time.
Wargod, when you say he "went the other way in his roots", what do you mean? Is he no longer playing the blues?

I have the first two and enjoy them both now and again. I'm not a big blues fan but when I'm in the mood for some, I pull those two out quite often.

Care to elaborate?
Nu-metal? Modern rock? Pre-programmed electronic dance music? I seem to recall his second album having almost a gospel music-tinge to it. Is he making gospel music now?

The last album was more spiritual from what I remember

I remember a friendly rivalery between him and Kenny Wayne Shepard when they both came out around the same time. I thought Lang was a little better since he sang and jammed on the guitar at the same time.

I remember this too. I thought it was kind of cool. Both were very young and that was kind of a novelty at that time for some reason. I have seen both of them play live a few times and they do know their stuff. I am glad that they are developing their own styles now instead of the SRV clone stuff. I love Stevie Ray Vauhan but they broke the mold with him.

Yes Jonny went more to a spiritual and gospel sound where KWS stayed more true to his roots!

Sounds like I might need to check out the latest Lang disc.
I have a soft spot for gospel/spiritual sounding bands like A3 and Sonia Dada.

Apparently, Lang won a Grammy for his last album in the "Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album" category. Definately not my thing. I'll stick with KWS and the blues.

I like Jonny's stuff. I got all his albums but I prefer Wander This World even though I think there's a little bit of filler on that CD.
