Well, I picked this album up last week and this is one great album opener. Good riff. I got into these guys 2 years ago (thanks to Ult and NLTM) and picked up almost their entire discography in a few weeks. But, I had not listened to them in a while.

Stratovarius - Will The Sun Rise?

Good tune. Fast tempo and Timo sounds great. I think there is a Dokken song of the same name on Under Lock and Key.

Stratovarius - Eternity

3rd song on the album, so far so good. It's a nice mid paced rocker that sort of lumbers along like a drunk gorilla.

Stratovarius - Episode/ Speed of Light

Episode is an instrumental that leads into the scorching Speed of Light. Great track.This is the first album to feature former Malmsteen keyboardist Jens Johansen. Timo's guitar sounds just like Yngwie on the solo and if JLT were singing instead of Kotipelto, I would think this song was off something from Malmsteen's catalog.

Stratovarius - Uncertainty

Excellent tune. I am really liking this disc. Pretty heavy and sort of reminds me at times of Queensryche mixed with some 80's AOR. These guys do a good job of sounding fresh on each track.

The guitar on the last track reminded me of something that Schenker and the Scorps would have come up with circa 1989.

Stratovarius - Seasons of Change

Mellow so far, w/ some nice piano work. Not a sappy ballad by any stretch but a solid rock tune reminiscent of something Savatage would have on one of their concept albums.

Stratovarius - Stratosphere

This instrumental opens with some speedy neo classical noodling before settling down and finding a mellow pace only to blaze again. Awesome.

THis is a bonus track as I have the Japanese edition. Good song. Sort of a cross between Kamelot and Scorpions meets Dokken and Malmsteen's Rising Force. All in all, a great album and well worth the $8 I paid for it.
