| I actually remember this one because I was watching Monday Night Football in the dorm lounge and Howard Cosell broke into the flow of the game to announce Lennon's death. I'll never forget it. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| John Lennon murdered 28 years ago today by a sh1thead who's name I refuse to say, also Jim Morrison if he had lived he would be 65 years old today, and Darby Crash of the Germs also died today, 28 years ago. | |

| December is a bad month to be a rock star eh?
I read something on Yahoo months ago that suggested that Morrison was murdered by a drug overdose Would be cool to see the kind of music he would have done had he lived, Same with John Lennon

| Geez, now I feel really old. I was ten years old when Lennon was shot. At the time I didn't know much about him, just that he'd been a Beatle (my Mom was a huge fan) but years later when I was in college I happened to be in NYC on the anniversary date and stopped at the all-day memorial that was going on in Central Park's "Strawberry Fields" (I'm sure all the hippies waving candles and playing Beatle songs on guitar wondered what the heck this six-foot-plus long hair in a leather jacket, boots and Metallica t-shirt was doing there, though...haha) and it was a pretty cool thing to be a part of, just for a little while. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I remember I was in 5th grade. My dad was a Beatles fan, and I was familiar with their music because we had a bunch of the original singles. As a matter of fact, two of the events I remember from my 5th grade year was John Lennon being killed and Reagan beign shot. Violent year, I guess. | |

I was in New York on Dec. 8th, 2005 (25th anniversary) with my wife and we went to Central Park to visit Strawberry Fields. There was a bunch of people sitting around, lighting candles, playing guitars, singing, etc. I took a really cool black & white pic that I framed, sitting on the bar in my basement. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I remember being awaken by my parents reacting to the news and watching the late night coverage. Being so young it was kind of confusing/scary (why would this guy do this?) but I just knew from everyone's reaction it was this terrible tradegy.
It wasn't till much later when I became a fan of Lennon that I realized just how big the loss was.

| I was ten years old when that moron shoot and killed John Lennon. I didnot hear about til the next day when I saw my father's newspaper, I didn't who the Beatles were let alone John Lennon at the time. But I figured he was important since my parents were horrified that someone would shoot a musician, years later when I started listening to music and getting into John Lennon did I realizw what a loss this was. | |
