Does anyone else remember this video being on fairly heavy rotation on MTV "back in the day"?

I never knew the artist, but I clearly remembered a drummer with a huge drumkit covering this old Del Shannon number, featuring claymation dinosaurs. Well, now thanks to the internet, I found the video (courtesy of YouTube) and some background information on the artist (courtesy of Wikipedia).
Luis Cardenas was the drummer from the rock band Renegade, who apparently was more well-known for being an all-Hispanic rock group, than for their music.
Is anyone familiar with Renegade? Are they any good?
