Didn't see a thread on perhaps maybe the hard rock and metal world's best singer. When this guy sings you listen. I haven't got a chance to pick up everything he has sang on, but i am starting to fill my collection with all his Jorn albums.
Killer melodic metal, killer guitars by the one and only Jorn Lofstad also in Pagans Mind.
What are your favorite releases by him?

Of his solo stuff I have "The Duke", "Out to every Nation", and Lonely are the Brave". Of those three, I like "Out to every Nation" the best.
Of the stuff I've got with him on it, I like Masterplan's first album the most though.

Jorn is one hell of a singer... But his solo stuff is not all that great imo, he just don`t write good enough songs, a few killes and lots of fillers.

Jorn on = Best metal vocalist ever.
Jorn off = strangely mediocre.

I love the man's voice, and I've enjoyed pretty much everything he's sung. Millenium, Vagabond, Mundanus Imperium, Masterplan, Nikolo Kotzev's Nostradamus, Avantasia, Jorn.... it's all good.
My favorite solo album is Out To Every Nation
My favorite band/project is Masterplan's debut.

I have the greatest hits (The Gathering) and the covers album (Unlocking The Past). The origional songs are hit and miss, I prefer Aeronautics and the stuff he did with Magnus (Allen-Lande). I still have to get the Masterplan debut. Unlocking The Past, however, is an outstanding album. I do want to get other albums if Ican find them (I believe his albums have just gotten U.S. distribution earlier this year). He is definatly one of the best vocalists around.

You must! I love Aeronautics and give it an oh so slight nod over Masterplan, but they are both brilliant.

I think out of his solo albums, I like "The Duke" best. But Masterplan's second album "Aeronautics" is the album I dig the most of all the CD's with the man's voice. Still, his greatest performance vocally would be (for me) on Avantasia - "The Scarecrow" and Masterplan - "s/t".
He's one of my all time favourite singers, continuing the legacy of big names such as Dio and Coverdale.

I Have around 25 official releases & I think Ark is his best, Amazing band. Beyond Twilight, Masterplan s/t, Worldchanger, Great stuff.
I just picked up Avantasia - Scarecrow last week & Ayreon 01011001 Sat. his voice ads so much to all the projects he is on.
I do like the 1st Vagabond cd. Lonely are The Brave has a nice Dio vibe going on.
Hell, The man can sing & I look forward to every cd he sings on.

One of my coolest experience with Jorn is when he played a local show named The Rock 'N' Roll Adventure, here in Sarpsborg (he actually lives in the town next to when I live). TRNRA is a covers show that was first performed in this town for close to 20 years ago. And it has been performed on different occasions through the years. Many local "heros" have played in this show, including members of Artch, Pagan's Mind, Wig Wam and others. The last time I saw the show Jorn was sharing vocals duties with Eirukur of Artch. Jørn Viggo Lofstad and Tore Moren (Carnivora) played dual lead guitars, and Bernt Janen (Artsch, Wig Wam) played bass. I forget who was on drums. Anyway, the band roared through classic metal songs from the 70's and 80's. Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Kiss you name it. And to hear Jørn Lande nail Strombringer was a treat!

Thought this was a cool picture from someone who owns over 80 official releases with Jørn Lande. Here is his "Out To Every Nation" collection:

I've seen multiple copies of that disc in the used bin. I never once bothered to check if there were differences in the covers. I had no idea there were.

Yeah. Over at the Jorn discussion board he has listed his entire Jørn Lande collection, with lots of pictures too, and most of the stuff is autographed. A frined of mine is buddies with Jørn, and has promised me to go visit him at his hone at one time. Then I'll have all my stuff signed too.

You even have the songs he did for Fredrikstad Football Club and the Norwegian Natinal Soccer Team? Or the Return "V" album? Or the commercial he did for Kims?

Very talented singer but there is something about his vocals that don't agree with me.
