Krautrock (don't be fooled by the name)

Usually people are frightened away unless they are into trippy Can and Amon Duul type stuff. But this is one of the great lost sources of good, classic hard rock. People (especially in the USA) who are wishing for just a few more albums of classic Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash, or Uriah Heep might will find some fairly fresh classic rock gems here:

of course there was plently of great prog to be had in the Krautrock scene as well, but my point is that it was often more than just weird prog.

Eloy is a good band. Lucifer's Friend is my fave KrautRock though.

I LOVE the 1st Lucifer's Friend album but they are kinda so-so after that!
