I'm going to the Cracklin Festival in Port Barre La this weekend, has anybody here other than me ever eaten a pork cracklin? I think they are better than steak!!!

I try to limit myself to once a month on the classic Taylor Ham, egg N cheez sandwich (with salt, pepper & ketchup of course)... but it's tough sometimes!!!

Not at all!!!!!! SPAM comes out of a can, Taylor Ham (AKA Pork Roll outside of NJ) come in a cloth!!!!! And it RULEZ!!!!!!!! I have Taylor Ham, Egg and cheese on an english muffin last weekend - good stuff!

FF - One of the local grocery stores here in VA sells it. I have to pick it up every so often. My Dad's side of the family was from NJ, that's how I got hooked on it as a kid!

Haha, yea, I had no idea that taylor ham was virtually non-existent outside of New Jersey till a few years back when my wife's uncle moved out to Michigan ...he couldn't find it anywhere out there, and anyplace he asked about it they'd never even heard of it. He missed it so much that we bought him a couple of rolls, froze'em and UPS'ed them to him for Christmas that year in a "care package!"

LOL! One of my Uncles live in MO and they don't sell it in MO. He found it visiting my grandparents in FL and bought a few rolls to bring back with him!

yeah it is pretty poor if you are lazy but i would say we have some very good food if you can find it or be bothered to make it.
