What are your thoughts on EP's? I like them personally. Some of my EP's are rare and hard to find!

I like them if there's exclusive stuff on them...but more often than not the exlusive stuff on EP's ends up on a rarities comp a couple years later anyway...

It depends on the EP, for the most part like Scott I avoid them if it is just a preview to that band's upcoming release, if it is a release in its own right than yes I will pick it up.

I only buy EPs if there's stuff on them that won't be on any proper release. Same thing with singles. I recently got Lordi's "Beast Loose In Paradise" because I found out it wasn't going to be on the new "Deadache" album. Same thing with Hardcore Superstar's "Bastards" single.

I rarely get them but a few of my favorite CDs are EPs.

Amorphis-Black Winter Day
Leave's Eyes-Legend Land (technically a singel but long enough)
Dream Theater-A Change Of Seasons

Singles I avoid almost completly (except the last three Iced Earth ones), too many full length CDs out there.

I too only buy EP's if there are any exclusive stuff on it that doesn't appear on any studio album. However, I'm not that big on singles.

I used to buy everything from certain bands. But when Metalica and Iron Maiden started to release 3 versions of each single and EP, I stopped! If there are some interesting unreleased stuff on it I might still buy it though.

We use to have a thread here for Favorite EPs. I can't seem to find it though. We could always start another one.
