Me too, however I use it quite often. I could spend hours searching through and watching the many videos. Love it!

I mostly use it to upload old commercials I've downloaded (for future use on my blog). I'll occasionally favorite or rate stuff though.

Yup, most of the comments on any particular subject/video are too dumb for me to try to even respond to/comment on. I never realized how uninformed most people in this world are until youtube came along. It makes me think about what the next generation will be like. I'm no genius, but I at least know how to do research before I write things down to sound half-way intelligent.

Or how to disagree with someone w/o calling them names or telling them to kill themselves, or do something physically impossible to yourself sexually, etc. That is the part they are worse on...apart from the language.

Aside from the obvious reasons (posting videos, posting comments), is there a reason to sign up for YouTube? I just go and watch the videos without signing up. Am I missing out on something because I'm not registered?

No you are not, there is no point unless you upload videos and want to make easy for lawyers to find you when they start suing due to the use of copy righted materials owned by their fat cat clients.

Aside from watching old metal videos (old Headbanger's Ball stuff) I rarely ever go there. Peace.

I use YouTube (mostly) to LISTEN to music, not watch it. People will upload "videos" of entire albums and it's probably the smartest idea anyone has come up with.

I have an account. I've uploaded a few videos. It's good if you want to upload videos for friends and family to see, I guess. I have a bunch on my favorites list that is attached to things like MySpace and Facebook. Some people have actually used the playlist before. So it's not entirely a waste. Necessary, though? Hardly.
