All this House Of Lords, Tesla, Pink Cream 69 talk got me wondering.....

What do you guys think of Ten?

To me they write the greatest mid-level rockers. Just shy of metal, but very much hard rock. Catchy as hell and they write great ballads.

Tony O'Hora is a great one for this in my book as well.

I can't listen to these guys because I'm afraid I will like it. There is way too much stuff I want ahead of this!

They are silky smooth melodic rock/metal. Just right.

I've liked everything I've ever heard by them. A lot. But I don't have any of their CD's. Where is a good place to start?

SAHB - Babylon, The Twilight Chronicles, Far Beyond The World.

Those are the ones I have, but I imagine any of them would be great.

I remember seeing this band at The End. Don't know that I've ever heard them though. Are they more like HoL or more like PC69?

I never could get into TEN...all the praise they get in Melodic Rock circles and I just don't quite get it...they don't suck, but never hit the right spot with me...

Toho - I'd say split the difference between the two bands you mentioned.

The best album they have is Spellbound. Trust me get that one first or else! I have all their albums. and that one is my favorite. Babylon is good too but the talking in between the songs are stupid and annoying. Their first couple of albums X, The Robe, The Name Of The Rose, Spellbound and most of Babylon are good anything after Far Beyond the World is good as well but they seem to just use the same formula they have through all their records so they got a little boring to me. I do like them though.

I never heard of these guys, but I stumbled on this at cmdistro.com

https://www.cmdistro.com/clearance.aspx#20672

Scroll down in the clearance section and they have the lead singer's solo album as well as Ten's Essential 2-cd collection for $6 bucks. Might be a good place to start for the curious types.

I have three of their albums, got them when CD Spins bit the dust. Each cost me like $3, and that's well worth it. Nothing special, but solid melodic rock.

I just ordered that 2 disc Ten set from that site too. As well as the Schleprock retrospective. Couldn't believe that was there.

I saw that. I want it. I could order 20 CDs from them right now. I might soon. Gotta think on it. Lots of killer Frontiers albums for sale.

I deliberately skipped straight to Ten because I knew I'd end up spending a fortune. Unfortunately (or fortunately as the case may be), I accidentally saw that Schleprock disc. I have America's Dirty Little Secret and the Out Of Spite EP so I had to pounce on that retrospective. And for $3? No brainer!

I only have America's Dirty Little Secret and I love it. Saw them live in Little Rock ages ago. Or maybe it was Memphis?

Schleprock was one of those bands I discovered the old fashioned way. I went to the local CD store that wasn't part of a chain and listened to the various CDs employees had posted at listening areas.

I really miss discovering bands that way.

Stop it!

I'm still only halfway through that 15 CD order I placed at The End last month!

I got the Ten 2 CD retrospective and also Serenity- Fallen Sanctuary for decent prices. But I too am always at least a month behind on listening to my purchases. I'm Ok with buying these though because I had been intending to anyway.

And both of those albums are frickin' classics! Man, I hope they do another album someday. With their recent reunion shows, a man can hope.
