Lordi

any fans of this band?

I know a lot of people discount them because of the monster costumes and theatrics, but they have the songs to go along with it. Sort of sound like Kiss meets W.A.S.P. with a touch of Twisted Sister. I'm diggin The Arockalypse CD

They're not that bad really...

Metal / rock doesn't have to be serious all the time...
I think it's cool when a band comes along with something different... well Gwar did it first... but you know what i mean

The Arockalypse is a very cool rock record

I love Lordi. The Arockalypse is a great album, and I've enjoyed everything I've heard off their earlier stuff too. Just tongue and cheek, balls out heavy rock.

I've only heard bits and pieces of this band's music. It sounds OK to me ("Hard Rock Hallelujah" is a great track) but I wonder if they'd be getting as much attention as they are if they weren't wearing the monster suits.

I also wonder why GWAR hasn't sued the pants off of them already.

I'm not saying it like it's a bad thing, but if those dudes were just wearing street clothes or leather jackets I wonder if they'd be seen as anything other than a plain ol' nothing special hard rock band.

Yes, i agree guys, i love Arockalypse too and its nice to have UDO´s voice on one song. Realy cool, or the beginning of the cd with the monsters attacking the city. Just fun.

Definitely. My first exposure to the band was their Monster Man video on YouTube. I was impressed.

I don’t like their costumes but I like there music very much. The music is what counts for me, so I don’t care about their costumes. I have only the special edition of the Arockalypse so far – a lot of catchy tunes: “Would You Love A Monsterman?”, excellent!

I like what I've heard from them so far.

I have a CD-R of their debut "Get Heavy" (at least I THINK it's their debut?) that a friend sent me a year or so ago, I didn't think much of it when I first listened to it but maybe I should dust it off and give it another chance.
"The Arockalypse" has just been released in the US so if I like what I hear on "Get Heavy" maybe I'll pick up the new CD.

Glad to hear you finally got some Lordi, ult. i knew you'd love them. You already know what I feel about them.

I like them. Get Heavy was pretty good and the other two are OK. I prefer GWAR though.
