| Big fan. I just love their laid back style. The 2 Rain Songs (Have You Ever, Who'll Stop) are two of my faves as well as about 15 or 20 others. They might sound a bit dated for alot of people these days but I'm sure if I wouldve been 15 or 20 back in 1970 I wouldve been a diehard CCR fan back then. | |

| John Fogarty ace songwriter, his catalog of songs is the history of the 60's in audio form. | |

| Big fan here too.
I love the memorability of Fogerty's songwriting. Hear a song once and you'll remember it the next time. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Just one great straight up no bullsh*t rock n' roll band in the tradition of Chuck, Jerry, Gene etc.
I love how they conjured images sometimes creepy of the Deep South through their swampy amalgam of country, rockabilly, blues and other very American roots musics.
"Run Through The Jungle", "Tombstone Shadow", "Graveyard Train", "Ramble Tamble" are my fav songs.
Despite being a popular and well known band i think their still underrated or underappreciated in their impact on music, look no further then their influence on the Gun Club, Cramps, Replacements, Grunge and any countrified rock n' roll band since.

| Rattpoison has got a point, they are the least celebrated of all the 60's band. I find it that amazing since IMO I think their songs spoke more about their generations hopes and fears than just about any other band of their era. | |

| Growing up, lots of folks assumed they were actually from bayou country, go figure. They did that great of a job, not only writing the songs but making it seem so real. I still give them alot of time on the turntable. I really like "green river" alot. Heard an interview that it is actually refering to the Sacramento River, which flows a few miles from my place. Have also tried to get into Fogerty solo stuff, but can't. Even Creedence Clearwater Revisited is alot of fun to see onstage. | |

I also find it amazing how well their music stands up today. Take away the production values and CCR sounds like a roots/rock band like Black Crowes to my ears. Except CCR wrote much better songs than the Crowes. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

All this without dipping their toes into the issue of Vietnam. Edit: Actually Fortunate Son is a big Vietnam song although they tended to focus on more home grown issues then looking abroad like many artists of the time.

| You all have some excellent points there. I especially like the somewhat morbid songs like Walking On The Water,Sinister Purpose,Bad Moon Rising, etc. | |

| I'd always known of Creedence through hit songs etc. but it actually took the Gun Club to make me realize how great Creedence was.
A few years back i became obsessed with the Gun Club (still am) and i heard their version of "Run Through The Jungle" and loved it. Then sought out the original and not only found out it was just as creepy as the Gun Club's version but that they had other songs like that. The whole albums were brilliant and they've since become one of my fave bands.

| Love CCR. Chronicle was one of my first cds. I just saw at Wal-mart today that they have a remastered re-release of Cosmo's Factory with bonus tracks and unreleased pics and the such for like $9.00. I thought about picking it up and didn't, I kinda of wished I would have it looks promising even though it is re-released by the Fantasy label, which if you know anything about CCR's past than you know their relationship with this label. | |

| Fantasy was actually a great record label, CCR was one of the first rock acts they signed. Prior to them they mostly recorded West Coast Jazz bands like Dave Brubeck and others.
Fantasy is now owned by Concord Music Group (they used to be Concord Jazz) and they've been reissuing many of the earlier albums in much improved sound. |

| My first true hard music love. My Dad had them on 8-Track (which I now have but upgraded to cassette-CD over the years). Just a perfect rock band. | |

| Truly one of the greats. I remember listening to a lot of them through my parents and later on classic rock radio. I need to get a greatest hits or box set of them. | |
