Fate - Anyone Know This Band?

Any fans of this band? Not the recent metalcore band. This is a melodic metal band. They've been around since the early 80s, but I'd never heard them until the other day. I picked up their latest album, V, through Laser's Edge for like $5. It's awesome!

They're like U.D.O. meets Primal Fear. Anyone know how rare their early stuff is?

I know that at one time Hank Shermann from Mercyful Fate (!) was a member of this band very early on but that's about all I got.

When Mercyful Fate broke up, Hank Shermann formed the more melodic Fate, they recorded a few albums in 80's, their self titled album in 1984 or 85, Hank Shermann did not rejoin them when the project was reformed recently. Very good band but not at all like Hank's former band.

i never cared for any non Mercyful Fate project Hank Shermann has been involved with. if that's even the same Fate you are referring to.

Good, though? V is killer. The singer has a very odd voice. I don't know if they overdubbed two vocal lines or if he just sounds like Udo and Scheepers at the same time, but it's wicked. So many hooks, too. I've had this thing playing nonstop since I got it the other day.

Very good band I will have to check out 'V' since I didn't know this album existed til you created this thread.

The first Force of Evil album wasn't bad, but otherwise I agree, his non-Fate work has been pretty unmemorable.

I like to buy CD side projects from King Diamond.
This release is very 1985. Not bad. Hair metal. AOR.

I got sent the LP by accident from Oldies.com years ago (They told me to keep it). Maybe I'll finally give it a spin soon.
