The band that spawned the careers of Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page for that alone they should be nominated for sainthood, but lucky their material was also very good songs like "Train Kept a Rollin" , " Think About it" and of course " Shape of Things" would influence a generation of musicians and would cause the sale of air guitars to triple. Here is a clip from " Blow Up" when both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck both briefly shared the same stage.

I like the Yardbirds alot, big fan of 60's rock. Alot of the Yardbirds mid 60's stuff production-wise sounds really bad but the songs are great. They were like a shooting star that came and went very quickly but left a lasting impression on the rock world forever, maybe even more than The Beatles because of the former members went on to be HUGE, unlike The Beatles.

I have a Best of collection that I listen to quite frequently. I'd eventually like to track down some of their other stuff, but time and money are, of course, an issue.
