Favorite Bible inspired songs?

This is tangential to Pastor Brad's question, but do you have favorite songs that are inspired by Bible verses? I really like this technique because in theory many Bible verses were originally probably lyrics to hymns (especially Psalms), but the traditional melodies have been lost over the centuries. For me setting Biblical verses to music revitalizes them in a way, at least for me. Makes them more contemporary. My favorites are from Veni Domine "Ecclesiastes", and especially "The Rider on the White Horse" which treats Revelations 19:11-16. There are many, many others.

TONS for songs by Christian artists - but for the heck of it, why not try to list as many bible inspired songs by arists who aren't part of the christian genre.

Megadeth's Shadow of Deth is just Psalm 23, and it's a pretty good song.

I can think of two early 70's bands that also used Revelations and/or Daniel. Human Beast (two songs) and White Witch ("Auntie Christy"...anti-christi, get it?)

23 by Deliverance which is really psalm 23.

Tons of stuff off Weapons.

Maybe not Bible inspired,but the first verse of Iron Maiden's Revelations is the 1st verse to the hymn O God of Earth and Altar.

Many other Tourniquet songs are full of lyrics based off of multiple verses (for instance in lyrics for The Test For Leprosy, there are 6 different verses referenced).

Many more Christian band's songs are inspired by the Bible but they don't give you a reference.

The entire Legend series from Saviour Machine is based off of Daniel, Revelations, and other prophetic verses in the Bible.

Cool topic. I don;t know if I have a favorite one, but I'd say "Ancient Prophecy" by Mortification off of Scrolls is up there. Also, Paramaecium's "The Unnatural Conception" from the first album is epic.

Yea, I'm gonna have to be a bandwagon jumper here and say "Creeping Death" as well.

Though Deliverance's "Weapons of our Warfare" is up there for me too.
