Iron Maiden's Best Guitarist?

Which guitarist in Maiden is your personal Favorite?

Adrian Smith is the man! I never realized how much he lent to Maiden's sound till he left the band. I felt that the NO PRAYER and FEAR OF THE DARK albums had 'something missing' but couldn't put my finger on it... till I heard Adrian's playing on Bruce Dickinson's ACCIDENT OF BIRTH album and went "Oh yea, THERE it is!"

Always been a big fan of Adrian Smith!
Like his playing, and his sort of cool laid back attitude.

Adrian Smith is the best one, but Dave is my favorite. He was always there!!

i went with dave too. he never gets the credit he deserves.

I also went with Adrian Smith. The guy has a lot of feeling that the other guitarists seem to miss.

All are good, but I like Adrian's playing most.

Adrian's playing on Chemical Wedding is great as well.

Got to go with Davey boy. He never left the band and his legato is the best in the business.

I always thought they were alot like KK Downing and Glenn Tipton.
Smith/Tipton-more technically proficient/scale oriented and the ripping solos in the middle of fast songs.
Murray/Downing-more feel-based playing and baby wa-wa pedals and whammy bars(although Dave not as much as KK), cool dreamy solos in slower epic songs, rythym guitar meisters.

hard to pick my fAVE cuz they compliment eachother but I picked Adrian.

Adrian Smith. No offense to the other guys but the Maiden releases he plays on are better than the ones he doesn't (could be coincidence,but I doubt it)

Dave. He is so much of what the Maiden sound is. I love Adrian, he has a lot of feeling. I like them both but I went with Dave. I guess no reason other than that Adrian usually gets more attention than Dave.

had to go with Dave... He clearly is the best of the three as a player. H is the best songwriter.

Dave is more fly by the seat of his pants, but H is more melodic(the way a songwriter should be!)

Anyways, I say Dave Murray.

For some reason I like Dave the best (probably because he's been the longest running member behind Steve Harris). Although, Adrian Smith plays my two favorite solos: Wasted Years and Stranger In A Strange Land (which incedently are my favorite songs).

I like 'em all...... but if you ask me to pick just one - Davey wins!

Janick Gers may not be Maiden's best guitarist, but when it comes to interpretive dance moves, he's got Adrian and Dave beat by a mile.
