| Does anyone remember this one-off project by The Rods' Carl Canedy? It featured a bunch of somewhat known metal musicians from bands like Anthrax, Talas, Exciter, Virgin Steel, etc. and was released on Combat Records in 1985.
Was this ever released on CD?

| I had that on tape as a kid and I used to have a cdr of the vinyl. I have never seen an official press on cd. That would be cool to get released as it was a fun album!! |

| It was hardly a "thrash" album, if anyone was wondering. More straight ahead metal, or biker rock in some places. |

| I vaguely remember that one... I never had the LP but it probably got some play on the college radio metal shows back then so I'm sure I heard a few tracks off of it... | |

Yup, the name was unfortunate because 'thrash heads' bought it expecting thrash, especially with members of Anthrax, Exciter, etc. pitching in a hand, but this was actually just traditional heavy metal with a Judas Priest/Accept vibe. James Rivera (Helstar), Rhett Forester (Riot) and Dan Beehler (Exciter) each sing on one of the songs as well.

| I always thought the album had something to do with "Thrasher" magazine, which was a skateboard mag popular at the time, so I just assumed it would be a punk/hardcore album. From the description it sounds like it would've been up my alley. Duh me. | |

| There's a review posted on Metal-Archives that is sort of lukewarm, but still gives a good idea of what to expect.

| My understanding is that this has never been officially released on cd. However, if you go to www.heavyrock.com they offer the Rods first album "Rock Hard" and Thrasher as a two on one "reissue." I think this is actually a bootleg though. | |
