it does not look promising i will still get it.
maybe the coffin on the front is a bad sign as it might die an untimely death

yeah, might as well, at least it will be better then st. wanker, "prays" it might not be great but at least better be entertaining.
if it does suck though we can paste a picture of the band in the coffin and bury them in brown marker, and put them behind us.

UA, I absolutly loved it, I think it sat in my cars cd player for a month and a half, I listined to it every day, going to school and my brothers would always say; "WHAT!!!??! THIS AGAIN?!?!? DON'T YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE?!?!"
at which point I would turn up sleepwalker all the way and headbang.

No, no, NO!!. An "Unforgiven III" is most definitely unnecessary. Hated the first one, hated the second one, not interested in a third helping, thanx.

I have heard everything but I'd say everything after AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. It's been a fast train to SuckVille ever since.

Must be nice to be -6 years old when Metallica was great. Ya had to be there kid.
I can attest to this although from a different perspective. I love the Black Album, I've mad no bones about this. TBA was my first encounter with a style of music I've had a love affair with for many years and many more to come (I doubt it will ever die). This was in '91 and I soon after got all the other albums before and Metallica was my first favorite band. For the longest time I could never understand people's hatred to TBA. That was until Load came out in '95 and I despised that album because it was even more of a departure from TBA than TBA was from ...And Justice For All. Just like the older guys who were into Metallica many moons before me I finally realized what their beef with it was. If Load was released by another band besides Metallica, I would have probably liked it but as it was, it wasn't Metallica to me anymore (just like TBA wasn't Metallica to most of those people anymore).

Yeah - Cool perspective, DB. The younger generation did not experience the INSANE loyalty we had to Metallica '83-the death of Cliff. There has never been anything like that phenom in American metal. James and Lars seemed to have erased those years, and that die-hard loyalty, from thier memories. THAT is why alot of 40 year old farts like me couldn't give a rat's ass what they do anymore.
BTW, I still sleep every night on my Master of Puppets pillow case. So, I don't take for granted MY roots, or those 3 "better-than-anything-on-the-planet" first albums.

Nice...Now I don't feel so ashamed about my WALLACE & GROMIT duvet....
Seriously cool, Sax...
I LOVE the Metallica catalog up to the "Black" album...I remember sighing an "oh no" when the video for "One" premiered on MTV..As it signified (to me) the end of something great.... Next album all songs were pared down to "single length" videos for all and the huge sucking noise began...and has grown louder with every release...
All my opinions, mind you...

I'd bet it's bringing all those memories back when you met Sax and had a little too much to drink.

Metallica was more like a religion to my small circle of friends...enhanced even more by the fact that they didn't do videos, weren't played on the radio, we knew very little about them. That just added to the mystique and "other-worldliness" that they had. They felt like a band that BELONGED to us...because they seemed to be people that were just like us. It was an amazing little fraternity that ended when their tour bus wrecked and Cliff left us. They were never the same...of course then neither were we.
