Now i know a certain cave dwelling amphibian around here has an eternal hard-on for this lass but who else around this joint loves the how should i put it, unconventional stylings and eccentric warblings of Ms. Bush.
I love all her rekkids, with Never For Ever being my favourite. Don't ask me why though.
Each song is an island state unto itself, being worldly, ethereal and surreal.
Someone who isn't afraid to tackle taboo subjects in her songs Kate Bush is a true original.
So favourite records, songs and other thoughts?

Too weird for me. And her vox are really strange; "breathy warbling" would be how I'd describe it. I lump Kate Bush and Tori Amos together in that category of "weird chicks who have strange voices and perform odd music." I do appreciate that she is very different but just not my thing.
On a side note, I love Pat Benatar's cover of Kate's "Wuthering Heights" on the Crimes Of Passion album.

Crudely stated, but not necessarily false. Don't even get me started about how much I love Kate - and yep, me and Shiney have indulged our Kate fetish to the max online.
There is an innocence to Kate's work that is completely refreshing and disarming all at once. She touches places inside of me I didn't even know existed.
And Tori Amos' name doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath with Kate's. Tori wishes she was Kate, but doesn't even come close.

If you could only take one Kate Bush record with you what would it be Trog, Shiney or anyone else for that matter?

Arrggh...that's a tough one. Her first 6 all have some incredibly special and moving moments for me. I could probably narrow it down to The Dreaming and Hounds of Love, but I'd still be missing a ton of great material.

Love the "There Goes A Tenner" clip and song.
Gotta love the accent, always liked it when Brit musicians kept their 'cockney' ala the Small Faces, Sex Pistols etc.

If I could only take on KATE album along... "Hounds of Love"
"Running Up That Hill" still floors me everytime I hear it....
And I even dig PLACEBO's interp. of that one....
TORI AMOS is a hack....the ONLY reason she got as far as she did is because (sadly) 97% of this country does not acknowledge KATE BUSH or she would have been stoned a plagarist witch....And I would have hurled the first pebbles, I dare say!!!
BUT if TORI asked me to, I'd spank her....I got a thing for redheads.....

I still say both fall into my category of "Weird Chicks Who Have Odd Voices And Sing Strange Music".
On a side note, I think Liv Kristine of Leaves' Eyes is a Kate Bush wannabe; albeit for a metal band.
