Nobody's Perfect, Made in Europe, Made in Japan (both versions). The two disc remaster of Made in Japan is my favorite.

I can't quite remember, but just off the top of my head without actually getting out my list and looking at it...if you count the domestic releases as well as the European imports...oh, and the bootleg soundboard recordings.....I'd have to say...




































...zero.

What's the lineup and track listing on the Cal Jam?

The DVD of that California Jam concert is awesome. Blackmore flips out because the TV folks recording the show wanted him to start before sundown. Space Truckin' just turns into a "beat the crap out of my guitar" session for Ritchie which includes exploding amp and everything. I'm sure SAHB was there. I wasn't even born yet.

That Deep Purple In Concert one must be awesome. I've almost bought that one many times. The major draw for me is the live version of "Maybe I'm A Leo".

Live in Montreux - 1969. Nearly a year prior to releasing In Rock here's the classic lineup with Ian Gillan running through a setlist of primarily early tunes and still-developing versions of songs that would be featured on In Rock. Wring That Neck and Mandrake Root are both extended jams of over 20 minutes a piece.

Also available in the Archive Collection:

Live In Stockholm - 1970. Another raging show from a few months later, this one also features extended jams, Child In Time clocks in at 19 minutes, Wring That Neck and Mandrake Root both 30 minutes a piece...it's an era of Deep Purple that would be extinct within a year. Most of the progressive tendencies would be pushed to the back burner...but here they were still finding their identity and it's a fascinating listen.

I have looked at these two Deep Purple albums and I am sure at some point I will pick them up.

I have lots of Deep Purple live albums, "LIve and Rare" is an excellent live album released shortly after recording "In Rock", it was also released as "Scandinavian Nights" recorded in 1970, and songs clock in at 17 minutes at a clip.

The band is still hungry and finding its direction.
