Shinedown is a pure rock/alt rock band. I love these guys and i also think Brent Smith has one of the best vocals in rock today. They have a new cd coming out in June and the first single off of it is killer.

Personally, I can't stand this band. The local radio station constantly overplays them. Their Skynyrd cover is atrocious. The vocalist over sings the song and just annoys me. But hey, that's just me.

I love that Skynyrd cover of Simple Man and think Brent puts a lot of emotion into the singing.

Been spinning their new album The Sound Of Madness and am loving it!!! Strong, heavy ROCK record! Brent Smith does indeed have a great voice and the single "Second Chance" is a great track...

I've seen these guys live...not bad. I didn't mind the Skynyrd cover live, but I've never heard the studiuo version.
Whenever I hear the name though, I can't help but think of someone polishing the head of their knob until it is nice and shiny!
