| What are your thoughts on this band. They are calling themselves 'thrash metal' but to me it has that same sound as bands like The Haunted that just don't scream "THRASH" to me. What do you think?

| I have a demo tape by a band called Angelkill:
Angelkill - Blood Stained Memories, 1996
I wonder if it's the same band (I can't go to myspace from here). These guys were like death metal.

| Angerkill sounds good. They don't really sound like a "thrash" band to me, though. Thrash is Exodus, Dark Angel, Vengeance, and all those kinds of bands.

| Dude, it's AnGERkill, not AnGELkill. I just went to their myspace and noticed.
...and they started in 1998, which also precludes them from being the Angelkill I have a demo of.
they sound nu, or at least new..

| I'd call it metalcore LONG before I labeled it thrash. Stop-start riffing with some dude screaming over the top. Blech.

ult so what would you call bands like this & The Haunted? I don't know. The Haunted manage to stear clear of sounding like metalcore and come closer to thrash metal. I guess it's neo-thrash. I haven't actually heard the Haunted in a while. I remember them having a bit Slayer influence. As for Angerkill, I've only heard a handful of tracks, but they seem to be a bit closer to the metalcore side of things, while still incorporating some thrash influences. What would you call bands like Angerkill & The Haunted. | |

I don't know.
