It's weird that the trailor doesn't even mention Lita Ford, who other than Joan Jett, was probably the most successful member outside the Runaways.

That's because this is the story from Joan and Cherrie's (mainly Joan's) POV. There was a documentary put together a few years ago called "Edgeplay" that has Lita's side of the events.

I actually heard that Lita didn't offer much into the movie it was more Joan Jett & Cherie Currie.

Joan Jett has said she’s impressed with the biopic of The Runaways.
The movie, which is simply called The Runaways, has just been premiered in America at the Sundance Festival.
Kirsten Stewart plays Jett, with Dakota Fanning in the role of vocalist Cherie Currie.
So, what does Jett make of Stewart?
“I think she’s a really real person. She’s authentic. She cared about it, it wasn’t just a gig,” Joanie told Cinema Blend.
“She cut off her hair, she really immersed herself in it. I don’t mean to put words in her mouth, but what I get is she feels she has to do it justice.
“She knows The Runaways have fans, she knows I have fans, and she was concerned about being authentic. I found her wonderful to be around. We got along great.
“It’s really scary – when you see us together physically, the energy is so similar. The way we move, the way our hands move and our hair, the way we talk, we start and don’t finish sentences. It’s really bizarre, but in a great way.
“When you see Kristen singing, that’s really her singing. Same thing for Dakota and Cherie. I think they did an incredible job. I was very proud.”

They really played down Lita Ford's role in the band, made her seem very mean, and the few times you notice her onstage, she is playing like a typical "guitar god" , I have seen her do in old Runaways music videos.

Okay movie, but as a fan of the band, wish it was longer, and the storyline was better and in order.

Anone else notice that Kristen Stewart's acting of Joan, seemed a little borrowed from Edward Furlong's character "Hawk" from Detroit Rock City or as "Ron Decker" in Animal Factory ?

I agree with your assement of the film, it was not a bad film but it could have been 100x better, and as far as Lita Ford, Sandy West and composite bassplayer ( who is a character not based on original bassist Jackie Fox, what a bunch of sh!t) they were faceless not existent characters according to the film.

Also the movie seems to think the Runaways folded as soon as Cherie bailed

Viewers have noticed that Fuchs has a very familiar face. She formerly went by the name of Jackie Fox, when she was the bassist for the popular band the Runaways in the 1970s.
