| I worked security at Disciple, Fireflight and Decypher Down (sp?) the other night. Big crowd of kids on hand for that show. Disciple, as always, spent a good portion of their show offering the good news of Jesus Christ to the crowd. Musically, however, all three bands were B O R I N G!!! Not one guitar solo all night. Nothing but a bunch of heavily distored, downtuned strumming. Not even a decent recognizable riff. Total CRAP! Man, these guys have gone down hill fast from the times I saw them in the 1990's. Their bass player looked like one of those emo rejects with his jet black hair pulled to the side covering his face. I was very disappointed. They even changed "I Just Know" and made it sound like the other songs. The groove that the original song had was cool, but they lost that groove in this new version. The kids had a good time. They were beating the crap out of each other in the mosh pit, which went for nearly the entire Disciple show and good portions of the other two bands. I'm not even sure you could call it a mosh pit. It was more like a jump around and beat the crap out of each other pit. It was my job to keep order in the pit, like that could ever happen. Basically all I did was pick up kids that would fall down and push kids into the middle that were running into us. I'd be willing to bet that 50% of the kids there don't even listen to that type of heavy music. I know for a fact that a few of the girls there, from my church, listen to that diva pop crap and probably hadn't heard a Disciple song in their life. They were in the pit almost the whole time.

| Why would there need to be security at a Disciple show? Concessions, ticket takers, lights/sound - but a big guy for security? I figure Carrottop couldda took care of that crowd! |

Concessions, ticket takers, lights/sound - but a big guy for security? I figure Carrottop couldda took care of that crowd! There was a lot of security at this show. It was even at a church. They had 3 guys standing in front of the stage to keep kids off the stage. A few guards keeping people out of the backstage area and a bunch of us in the crowd making sure no one in the pits got hurt. We were to also stop any crowd surfing. Anyone getting out of line was to be removed from the concert. | |

| Disciple could have been one of the Christian bands to break big on the secular scene. They never did. Why does any band think changing their sound will help them make it big. It almost never works. 9 times out of 10 it destroys the band, and they end up being billboard painters like the guy from KIX |

| I posted this same thread on a Christian board and am getting blasted for it. This HAS TO BE THE BEST POST EVER! - Quote :
- Disciple is metal not pop. Pop is like the later Whitecross stuff.
Disciple is nu metal. Since you are a huge metal collector and fan then I think you should like nu metal because it IS Metal. I think you are not a true metal head unless you start liking Metalcore like Norma Jean stuff and Nu Metal like Disciple. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

:lol!: Ult is not a TRUE Metal head. if some people spent more time sitting on their ass rather than talking through it, it would be a great world. But in saying that they do provide a good laugh. - Forever A Heath Bar wrote:

Lord knows ? do you remember the Grave Digger effort when they changed to Digger ? that was a car crash (although that may have had more to do with their record company, but mainman Chris did say that it was done to make more money) |

| Feb 8, 2007 Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis, MN Everclear Great show. I have been a big fan of this band for a long time. These guys are so genuine. Just an ex-smack junkie who pours out his soul in every tune. Not an ounce of pretensiousness was to be found. Played all the hits and a couple of new ones. For the second encore, they got about 30 girls out of the audience and played "867-5309". Cheesy cover, but it got the place jumpin'!! Lots of fun. |

| Saw Black Sabbath and Megadeth this past Saturday at the Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque. GREAT SHOW. Both bands were outstanding. Megadeth played a lot of older material from "Peace Sells..." and "Rust in Peace" which was a nice surprise. The band was tight, with a capitol "T". I banged my head quite a bit during their show. As I recall, this was the set list:
Megadeth
1. Sleepwalker 2. Take No Prisoners 3. Kick The Chair 4. Wake Up Dead 5. Hangar 18 6. Washington Is Next 7. Tornado Of Souls 8. Symphony of Destruction 9. Peace Sells 10. Holy Wars
Heaven & Hell (aka Black Sabbath w/ Dio) were also outstanding! Geezer is still the man. Dio commands the stage as always and Tony Iommi is amazing. I've seen Black Sabbath several times, including the "Born Again Tour" with Ian Gillan. This was actually the first time with Dio and I must say they were technically a lot better with Dio than they ever were with Ozzy. This could also be that there was none of the Ozzy material played. The entire set list consisted of Dio-era material. Every song was phenomenal. I know some people don't care for "Dehumanizer", but the songs from this album sounded just as great as the rest of the material. "I" was incredibly heavy!
The set was based around a castle. The band wasn't overly active, but there was enough going on with lighting effects and such to keep you're eyes busy while injesting the heavy music that was being played. One either side of the stage there were windows with crosses in them. Smoke would emerge from these windows with lights that looked a bit like rays of sunshine coming through. It was very cool effect. For each song there was something different happening on the stage. I can't explain it all. All I can say is, if you get the chance, don't miss this tour.
1. E5150 2. After All (The Dead) 3. The Mob Rules 4. Children of the sea 5. Lady Evil 6. I 7. The sign of the southern cross 8. Voodoo 9. The Devil’s Cried 10. Vinnie Appice drum solo 11. Computer God 12. Shadow of the Wind 13. Falling off the edge to the world 14. Die Young 15. Heaven and Hell 16. Neon Knight _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!
